Safety inspections

Mac Rack offers an inspection service for customers. This service involves a site visit and a visual inspection of The storage Area. A report will then be produced detailing any damage that exists and makes a recomendation regarding repairs in relation to this material. A quotation will also be submitted for carying out those repairs. The more frequent forklifts movements are the more likely it is that you need your racking inspected.

the things to watch out for are

  • front of frame damage which is easily identified and generally occurs when drivers reverse into frames
  • side frame damage or substantial twisting. this can be an indication that drivers are finding the aisle width too narrow or are not taking care when inserting or removing pallets.
  • bracing damage on frames which is usually caused by pallets being bumped into the frame. This is not immediately obvious unless it is being looked for. It weakens the frame but is easily repaired with very little disruption
  • beam damage which is caused when drivers raise the pallet two high on extraction or try to locate the pallet with the forks lower than they should be

The service cost depends on the size and number of sites visited. It includes a report on current damage , advice on things to watch out for and advice for staff on maintaining equipment.

Expansion

We are happy to discuss any projects you may have in relation to optimising your storage areas as they currently operate and can produce Drawings showing your current layout and how any new projects might fit in to this system. In many cases clients can be made aware of alternative solutions to moving building by simply revamping storage areas with innovative storage products freeing up floor space for alternative projects.

Product Disposal

We are also quite happy to engage in brokering the transfer of items into and out of our customers companies. On occasion machines, materials and other items become obsolete in one organistation and need to be removed. This does not always mean that the item itself is obsolete so we are prepared to engage in contacting businesses from our database who may have a need for these items in order to facilitate their removal. This is an effective tool on a number of levels. Firstly it generates income from an otherwise useles item, secondly it eliminates costs in relation to scrapping equipment and thirdly it removes the need for staff to engage in the process and allows them to focus on their own work.
